The Thanksgiving before last, my friends Erika and Ankur told me they wanted to have a wedding unlike any other. They wanted to take their friends all over the world, or go to outer space, or … fill in the blank with the craziest wedding you could dream of. I knew whatever they chose would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but I couldn’t have imagined how truly special it would end up being: an 8 day bucket list trip across Africa. You’ve probably seen the wedding all over the media, and my Instagram and TikTok too, but here are a few highlights and insights from my POV.
